很多公司都會辦尾牙
而許多人最期待的部份就是抽獎了
尾牙 year-end party
抽獎 lucky draw
A: When are we going to have our year-end party?
B: We'll have the party on January 21.
A: I'm looking forward to it.
I heard there are some good presents for the lucky draw,
including a BMW.
B: I didn't get the lucky draw gift last year.
Hope I can have better luck this time.
A: 我們什麼時候要舉辦尾牙呢?
B: 我們會在1月21號的時候辦
A: 我好期待喔! 我聽說有一些不錯的抽獎獎品, 包括一台 BMW
B: 我去年沒有抽到獎品, 希望我這次運氣能好一點

[世界風情畫] 紐約萬聖節遊行
每年 10 月 31 日是美國鬼節，也就是西洋萬聖節
小朋友們會沿街逐戶按門鈴大喊 Trick or treat? (不給糖就搗蛋)
從 10 月起，許多家庭或商店會為萬聖節佈置
紐約街頭的櫥窗風景也是觀光重點之一
萬聖節當天晚上紐約還有熱鬧的格林威治村萬聖節遊行
(Greenwich Village Halloween Parade)
今年遊行路線是從 Spring Street 至 15th Street 的 Sixth Avenue

It is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern.
Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, attending
costume parties, visiting haunted houses,
telling ghost stories, and watching horror films.

說到 Halloween 的慶祝活動
大家通常都會想到 trick or treat
小朋友們會穿著道具服挨家挨戶去要糖果
而有些大人們則會參加化妝派對或遊行
美國紐約市的 Halloween parade (萬聖節遊行) 非常有名
也是年度盛事之一
每年會看到許多精心打扮的遊行者
圍觀的民眾很多
場面非常壯觀

Black Friday 並不是指十三號星期五，而是指美國感恩節 (Thanksgiving) 之後的第一天。感恩節是在每年十一月的第四個星期四，之後那天是星期五，人們通常會開始聖誕節大採購，因此這一天通常被視為是聖誕採購季正式開始，也是一年中各個商家最看重也是最繁忙的日子之一。傳統上用不同顏色的墨水來記賬，紅色表示虧損即赤字，黑色表示盈利。把這個星期五叫做黑色星期五，期待這一天過後，年度營收由負轉正，由紅字轉為黑字。

In the United States, certain kinds of food are traditionally
served at Thanksgiving meals. Firstly, baked or roasted turkey
is usually the featured item on any Thanksgiving feast table.
Stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes,
cranberry sauce, sweet corn, other fall vegetables,
and pumpkin pie are commonly associated with
Thanksgiving dinner.
