   很多公司都會辦尾牙
   而許多人最期待的部份就是抽獎了
   尾牙   year-end party
   抽獎   lucky draw
 
   A: When are we going to have our year-end party?
   B: We'll have the party on January 21.
   A: I'm looking forward to it.
        I heard there are some good presents for the lucky draw,
        including a BMW.
   B: I didn't get the lucky draw gift last year.
       Hope I can have better luck this time.
 
   A: 我們什麼時候要舉辦尾牙呢?
   B: 我們會在1月21號的時候辦
   A: 我好期待喔! 我聽說有一些不錯的抽獎獎品, 包括一台 BMW
   B: 我去年沒有抽到獎品, 希望我這次運氣能好一點

   每年 10 月 31 日是美國鬼節，也就是西洋萬聖節
   小朋友們會沿街逐戶按門鈴大喊 Trick or treat? (不給糖就搗蛋)
   從 10 月起，許多家庭或商店會為萬聖節佈置
   紐約街頭的櫥窗風景也是觀光重點之一
   萬聖節當天晚上紐約還有熱鬧的格林威治村萬聖節遊行
   (Greenwich Village  Halloween Parade)

Black Friday  並不是指十三號星期五，而是指美國感恩節 (Thanksgiving) 之後的第一天。感恩節是在每年十一月的第四個星期四，之後那天是星期五，人們通常會開始聖誕節大採購，因此這一天通常被視為是聖誕採購季正式開始，也是一年中各個商家最看重也是最繁忙的日子之一。傳統上用不同顏色的墨水來記賬，紅色表示虧損即赤字，黑色表示盈利。把這個星期五叫做黑色星期五，期待這一天過後，年度營收由負轉正，由紅字轉為黑字。

   Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday in   
   November. It has been an annual tradition in the United States
   since 1863. It did not become a federal holiday until 1941. 
   美國於1863年起, 在每年11月的第4個星期四慶祝感恩節
   但直到1941年, 感恩節才正式成為國定假日
   In the United States, certain kinds of food are traditionally 
   served at Thanksgiving meals. Firstly, baked or roasted turkey
   is usually the featured item on any Thanksgiving feast table.
   Stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, 
   cranberry sauce, sweet corn, other fall vegetables,
   and pumpkin pie are commonly associated with
   Thanksgiving dinner. 
   在美國, 有些特定的食物是傳統的感恩節餐必備的
   烤火雞經常是感恩節餐宴的主菜
   其他相關的菜餚有填塞於火雞內的餡料、馬鈴薯泥與肉汁
   蕃薯、蔓越莓醬、玉米、其他秋天的蔬菜與南瓜派
