   Marc Chagall was a Russian-Jewish artist, one 
   of the most successful artists of the 20th century. 
   He was an early modernist, and created works in 
   a variety of media, including painting, book 
   illustrations, mosaics, stained glass, stage sets 
   and ceramic.
